A.D.O.R.

I was surfing the video hosting sites for some dope old school shit when I came across a track I hadn't heard in at least 13 years (if only you could've seen my "Oh Shit" reaction when I spotted it -- lol). A cat that went by the name A.D.O.R. dropped a Pete Rock produced single called "Let It All Hang Out" back in '92 (?) and never dropped an album to follow it. Maybe I'm mistaken about his album but, after hearing the single, I was geekin' for an album and never saw one. Maybe someone can help with that bit of information on this guy since he appears to have thrown in the towel on his career as a rapper. I found the video after browsing the 'net for a while and settled on the AOL version since YouTube joints tend to be all kinds of grainy and poor in quality. I hope everyone enjoys this video as much as I do/did.

Peace.

  1. Yeah, A.D.O.R.'s '92 album "The Concrete" got shelved, but he ended up releasing an album in '98 with "Let It All Hang Out" on it called "Shock Frequency", and it's actually pretty solid; it sounds very '92 rather than '98, which is probably why it wasn't very popular. Also, apparently he released an album called "Tru Jewelz and Videotape" this May.

  2. Dope album, got a friend who's a big fan so I heard about it a while back. PR is nice on the production.

  3. Norf, I vouch 100% for Shock Frequency (which is about 2/3 of The Concrete + a handful of tracks he did in '98). "Enter the Center" is another track he worked with PR on, and it's similarly dope to "Let it All Hang Out".

Also, here's a link to The Concrete if you wanna hear the tracks specifically from there:

Otherwise, Shock Frequency is available for $1 on amazon.

    Peace.
